Success story of chef Vikas khanna; Journey from Amritsar to America 

Vikas khanna is one of the most celebrated chefs in the world and a famous cookbook writer.

Vikas khanna is the Michelin starred chef from india, who has prepared a food for likes Narendra Modi, Barak obama and Dalai lama. Beside Being a chef khanna is also a author, humanitarian, judge of masterchef india and restaurantar.

● Born with misaligned leg:-

Khanna was born in Amritsar, Punjab with misaligned leg. The doctor thought that he might never be walk properly, but his mother thought otherwise.  He could never play outside like other kids, and was confined to his home. Staying home allowed khanna to stay in the kitchen. He inspired by his grandmother to start cooking. By the age of seven khanna had developed an obsession with food. Rolling the dough made him feel good and powerful and his grandmother always supported his love for cooking .

● He started his 1st bussiness along with his mother:- 

When he was 17 he started a catering bussiness with his mother, named Lawrence Garden. It was new beginning for khanna who has no idea what to do in life.

● Education and His Carrier:- 


He applied for the welcomegroup graduate school of hotel administration at Manipal university. After graduating from college, khanna worked at the leela kempinski hotel in Mumbai for three years. Than he returned to Amritsar and grew his catering bussiness. After that he applied for US visa, so that he could perform on the world stage. When he landed in New York, He took up a job as a dishwasher in small restaurant. When he was asked to step in as a waiter on a busy day, they did not allow him to do that becuse he barely speak English. One day he almost made up his mind about heading back to Amritsar. But this was when he discovered the NewYork rescue mission, a homeless shelter. There, he realised thathe was not only in NewYork who was homeless or unemployed. During his stay, he was told that someone needed 300 portion of an appetizer. ....khanna made them dhokla after that he earned a job of an executive chef in salaam Bombay an upmarket indian restaurant in NewYork. 
          After working for more then four years at salaam Bombay, Khanna decided to start his own restaurant. His first restaurant was an Indian takeaway serving inexpensive meals to wall street professionals. After that he joined a show 'kitchen nightmare' the show by British chef Gordon Ramsay. Afyer that he started his new restaurant 'JUNOON' . It was launched in Dec 2010. The restaurant was an instent hit and received the Michelin Star with 10 months of opening. He also cooked dinner for the WHITE HOUSE and play judge on masterchef india and hosts the travel show twist to taste.
